CHAPTER 7

Split screen paper sculpture animation

When reading a book the reader is very
much in charge. The order and pace at
which the words are read and the imagery
that is created is very much left up
to the interpreter.

This piece takes a printed passage from
George Orwell's 'Animal Farm' and places
it in a moving image format. The time
based medium forces the reader to be
directed by the film, showing the viewer
the words to read and what order to read
them in. The piece also dictates the
imagery, describing the passage through
paper sculpture animation.
