MECHANICAL ABSTRACTION
Experimental poster project
Edition of 5
This project looks at subverting the
function of a cordless drill to create
abstract paintings, taking inspiration
from the ‘Action Painting’ movement
prominent in the 1950’s. Final outcomes
feature overlaid screen printed
typography, emphasising the importance
of the process. The project questions
the way we perceive D.I.Y technology
and explores two different image making techniques, comparing original painting
to mass produced print.
